#Of_travel_tales #Time_away
Some two weeks ago I was invited for a trip to one of the amazing cities in Uganda and boom I grabbed the invitation with both hands and legs. I was so excited because I was finally going to breath in fresh air away from the capital city. This city I was invited to is Mbarara city, a place I call my home too thanks to the love I receive from my friends who reside there.
My friend was inviting me to go over there specifically to be a part of his son’s birthday celebrations on 2nd August 2020 and to catch up on life.

I therefore boarded a bus to Mbarara early morning on Sunday 2nd since I was unable to travel earlier on Saturday due to events engagement. While on the bus, I was so peaceful mainly because such trips are therapeutic, I was going to meet my friends after a long while, celebrate a life and also live in a different environment. I was intending to spend there 4days atleast. The journey was so swift and I reached Mbarara after 4hours and my heart was happy because I was safely in my other home, thanks to God. I grabbed a boda boda to my friend’s home. He was glad to see me and we exchanged serious hugs dressed with so much warmth and love.
The birthday party for his son, my nephew #DiDi started at 3:00pm with a sumptuous meal which I enjoyed especially the Irish potatoes with pork. We then engaged in a few games with the children, mothers and fathers/uncles who were around. It was massive and a joyous moment seeing many families bond. We later cut cake which was so delicious, gifted DiDi an event he enjoyed, took some tea as speeches were being given and closed with a worship moment. The party later ended at 8:00pm and us the elders just moved on to a music chill away from the children.
It was a glorious day and I am glad I was there to celebrate.
I love creating such memories…there is a rare kind of peace they breed in my life.

It was Monday 3rd, and boom my personal time away from home had just started. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise and sounds of birds was so heart warming and energy giving. I had a full bedroom to myself so I had the privilege of gazing through the window and watch the birds sing in the trees in the compound. I love such. I was breathing afresh. Such moments help me release certain pain and gather more positive vibes.
I got out of the bedroom at 10:00am to clean the house as my friend and his brothers prepare breakfast and later lunch for us. They mastered the art of treating me well and are a whole bunch of joy in my world. Probably I just love the time I spend with men; I have grown up loving it more and my friend was just one of those close to my heart. I always had milk for breakfast and bananas for lunch.
After lunch we basically would rest a bit to watch a movie. Personally, I would first do a bit of social media posting, read a bit and then later join in in the movie watching. These movies were carefully selected to specifically get me thinking about life in a better way, something I needed. This would go on till evening hours.

Quality time is my strongest love language and somehow, I attract close friends who value it too. So, my friend and I always went for evening walks on most of the days. Just to spend time alone, talk more and understand more about the life we are living.
There is this particular walk we tool on Tuesday 4th, it was so eye opening and hearty. I loved listening to each of us share about our lives, crack jokes, laugh so hard and try to dodge dust.
Upon returning home, we would have supper and join the other boys in having fun, listening to music and having all kinds of conversations till late in the night.
Personally, I am a late sleeper so I would stay up in the wee hours talking to my friend as I looked up to the sky while the boys got knocked off one by one, thanks to tire and sleep. I love looking at the moon and the stars in the night, the whole scene gets my blood moving in a better way and blocked veins opening up. It just refreshes my soul.
My friend and I spent a great deal of time talking about our love for art and how it can be created in studio. He is a cinematographer while I am learning photography as a skill, so you can imagine our conversations we have outside of our personal life. We literally can discuss a whole movie to it’s detail. I would sleep late after midnight.

Generally, the four days I spent in Mbarara will forever be recorded down in my memory lane.
I was able to have personal time evaluating my life, making amends, identifying my testimonies and drawing a way forward. I was in dire need of such resting time away from the usual Kampala.
I needed to take a rest and recoup. Furthermore, it was also an opportunity to visit my other married friends who reside in Mbarara, it was a good time for us to catch up. The treatment I received at my friend’s place was A class and it made my away time peaceful.
By the time I left on Thursday 6th, my heart was happy, my skin was breathing, my soul was refreshed, my spirit was awakened, my friends were glad and love was shared.
I am forever grateful to God for granting me such an opportunity and provided for literally everything.

I returned to Kampala in a better posture and state of mind. Healthier and glowing.
Everyone needs to take off time to rest and recoup.
I am a happier soul now.
I also thank my genius friend Mandela Oyera for hosting me in Mbarara together with his brothers.
My heart is full!❤️

To you my audience,
I pray you always find moments to rest amidst the hard work pattern of your life.
I love you❤️
I am the Lioness Arising!
