Self-care includes all the things you do to take care of your well-being in four key dimensions – your emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual health.
We can only give to others what we are in some way giving and receiving for ourselves and therefore the need for self-care.
Personally, self-care is priority in my world and I do the following activities to ensure my life is tick;
🌺Chill at the beach:
This is what I gladly do anytime an opportunity shows up. It allows me spend time alone considering the fact that I usually hit the beach on weekdays when they are less occupied. During such moments, I get to relax my muscles, play in water and self introspect easily. It is one of the lone dates I do. Each time I go to the beach, I leave refreshed, alert and happier.
🌺Eat good simple food:
Food and I are a couple. I do not eat many things but i like consuming the little selected foods in both quality and quantity. I love my food boiled or pasted. I am not so dramatic with food and not friends with many spices. Add fruits and milk to my simple food and I will smile away.
🌺Listen to music:
This I do each time I feel tired both physically and emotionally. It helps me generate more energy to connect with people and it warms my heart. Through worship music, I receive lots of healing and revelation. Listening to music just takes me to heaven and back.
🌺Engage in intellectual conversations:
These are very key in my life. I am a sucker for developmental conversations that have a purpose or are geared towards making someone, a place or the world a better place. I avoid loose talks and as for gossip, this I flee from. I am the kind who low key shows up with an agenda for most meetings outings or phone conversations…
🌺Read my Bible:
I firmly believe in the principle of reading my Bible and praying everyday if I want to grow. The bible is my go to life manual and I get lots of revelation from the word in it. It bears food for my soul and spirit. I love my Bible because it keeps me sane.
Trust me to travel any day and any time to anywhere. All I need is for my schedule to be free on such a day. There is something about traveling that rejuvenates my mind and opens it to new ideas. Each time I travel, I get to fully receive and examine new ideas. Traveling which includes me taking long drives also helps me deal with anger. It is on such long trips that I have easily gotten time to reflect and forgive many people. Trust me to take a trip most times when I am not happy or I have been Dissappointed. It’s therapeutic for me.
This is something I love doing even when I think I don’t dance so well. It is also my go to kind of physical exercises considering the fact that my body reacts negatively to other forms of body exercises. In addition to helping me drop excess calories, dancing gets me happy and sweating. I feel a rare kind of joy each time I dance.
Self-care is essential for managing stress, preventing burnout, and mitigating compassion fatigue – all common occupational hazards for caring individuals. It is also a sense of overall integrity, as it ensures we are “walking our talk.”
Therefore my dear friend,
Let us invest highly in self care.
We can only achieve those big dreams if we as individuals are well.
I love you!
I am the Lioness Arising!
